Born and raised in Southern Brazil, Clarissa P. Valaeys started her career as a graphic designer, transitioning to art director and creative director while living in NYC, France, and later in Switzerland. She came back to her art in 2020 after a long hiatus. Through meticulous drawings, watercolors and acrylic paintings, she depicts different phases of a plant’s life which for her is a metaphor of women’s rites of passage.
