Crocheting, quilting and embroidering started Lutfia Muntasser’s artistic interests. It first began as a hobby, making blankets, quilts and embroidering pillows, and after many years that process led her from hobby to art. When she started her artistic path in 2013, her challenge was to create art without using traditional methods like drawing and painting, but by exploring experimental materials like fabrics and fibers such as cotton and wool. She started with embroidery and her work is quite intuitive and nothing is ever intentional. She makes no drawings, and no samples. She first chooses the colors, then the embroidery structure, then she starts and just waits to see what happens. Each work is unique.
